It shows how he turned the tables by winning over his fear. The story of Hajime no Ippo depicts his transformation from a school kid who was a victim of bullying to a successful boxer. The boxer then comes to him and asks him to punch a sandbag. Due to the lack of confidence, he was reluctant to try any exercise. There Takamura motivates him a lot to start exercising. Later, he finds himself in the gym with Takamura Mamoru when he wakes up. Once, Makunouchi Ippo faints after being bullied by his seniors. Later, a boxer Takamura Mamoru comes to his rescue and changes his life. The whole series revolves around a schoolboy who has been bullied all his life.
